FORCE Technology is a technology consultancy and service company which strives to create positive technological change and make the world more sustainable and safer.

Since 1940, we have helped companies through major technological transformations: From rivets to welding. From oil adventure to wind turbines. From analogue to digital. And we still contribute to defining the technological future.

Each year, thousands of customers entrust us with their products, materials, structures, largest potentials or worst challenges since we create security and value based on impartiality, confidentiality and knowledge.

We meet the customers through on-site inspections, measurement, and data collection. We make our comprehensive and unique infrastructure of facilities and laboratories for testing, calibration and analysis available to them. And we provide them with products, components, and sensor systems as well as specialist consultancy services and training.

We exist to help others, and it is our duty to lead the way and help Danish companies become technological and sustainable front runners. We do that through research and communication of new knowledge and technology. That is also the reason that our entire profit is reinvested in the company for the benefit of society.

As one of the large GTS (RTO) institutes in Denmark, we are at the same time an important part of the backbone of the Danish innovation system. Through our contribution to the technological development, we contribute to creating growth and prosperity and to making a real, positive difference for people, companies and society at large.

In Denmark, there are seven government-approved Research and Technology Organisations (RTO), known as GTS institutes. They are an integral part of the Danish innovation system, working to create more innovative and competitive Danish companies, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. They do this by making new knowledge available to businesses and collaborating with them to develop the technologies of tomorrow.

Force Technology is one of these seven institutes, operating at the intersection of societal challenges, business needs, and technological possibilities.

What’s in it for you?

Through Force Technology, you gain access to advanced testing, demonstration, and development facilities, enabling your company to develop and trial new products and solutions. Working with us, you can focus on innovation and development without needing to have all the required expertise in-house.

You can collaborate with us on both commercial projects and research and development initiatives. We provide guidance from the early idea stage through to market launch, and we assist with testing, inspection, and certification to ensure that your product or service meets all necessary standards.

Ministerial approval and independence

To be recognised as an RTO, we are approved by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. This three-year approval requires that we operate in the public interest, work in areas of significant importance to Danish businesses, maintain high professional standards, remain independent of political and financial interests, and have a sound economic and organisational foundation.

We are not publicly owned, and the majority of our operations are conducted on commercial terms. However, we are subject to special government requirements, including professional evaluations and ongoing financial and legal oversight. As we have no owners, all surplus income is reinvested in new research, development, and innovation.

As an RTO, we are eligible to receive public funding for research and development projects. This comes in the form of a so-called performance contract, which provides funding to build and develop new technological competencies and services expected to have a significant impact on Danish businesses and society.

These new services are designed to anticipate the needs of companies and must not compete with existing solutions.

Standards create clear frameworks for products and services worldwide – helping Danish companies stay competitive.


They define requirements and methods to ensure that products and services perform as expected, quality management systems are effective, and tests – for example on durability or environmental impact – are car-ried out correctly.

Making trade easier

With common standards, testing, measurements, and certifications are consistent across countries. This means companies don’t need to repeat the same tests for every market, and customers can trust that prod-ucts meet all relevant requirements – no matter where they are produced.

Protecting Danish business interests

Force Technology is actively involved in national and international standardisation committees and working groups. We help shape the development of new requirements and methods, ensuring that the needs and com-petitiveness of Danish companies are taken into account.
