Professional network for food contact materials

The professional network for food contact materials is a forum for specialists, where members can gain new knowledge and share their experiences within food contact materials (FCM).

At the network meetings, various sector issues are reviewed and discussed based on the interests of the members.

Topics discussed include:

• Legislation regarding food contact materials in Denmark, the EU and the USA
• Requirements and challenges related to documentation across the supply chain, focusing on documentation for production equipment and regulatory enforcement
• Preparation of declarations of compliance for single components, composite equipment and machinery
• Assessment of compliance documentation
• Migration testing and composition documentation of food contact materials, focusing on substances of concern in various types of plastics, rubber, silicone and metals
• Topics technically outside the main FCM area but still relevant due to potential transfer to food, e.g. lubricants, foreign bodies and process water management

The network holds four meetings per year. In addition, there is a LinkedIn group page for members to discuss technical issues and share knowledge about the latest developments in food contact materials. The LinkedIn group is only intended for knowledge sharing.

How to become a member of the professional network for food contact materials

The price for annual membership is DKK 9,900 per company. For late membership, the price for the first two meetings is reduced by DKK 2,450 each, and for the third by DKK 1,780.

Member companies have access to 4 yearly network meetings for 2 participants. For additional participants, the cost is DKK 1,300 per person per meeting.

Membership is not personal; companies may send different participants to each meeting.

Extended membership

If the company needs to send more than two participants to the meetings in general, extended membership can be offered so that participant 3, 4, 5, etc. may attend all four meetings for DKK 3,600 per participant.

Non-members

If there are specific topics of interest, it is possible to participate in individual meetings without being a member of the professional network. The price is DKK 3,100 per person per meeting.
