Networks and clubs

The Danish Audio Club is aimed at companies and individuals who work professionally with reproduced sound, i.e. sound from loudspeakers, headphones, hearing aids, telephones, etc.

The focus of the Danish Audio Club’s activities is on the assessment of perceived sound character (audio perception) and relevant electroacoustic measurements, typically used in development work and documentation.

The club’s activities enhance members’ knowledge of methods and good practices within both listening tests and electroacoustic measurements. Meeting environments are confidential and informal, based on the exchange of experience, joint projects reflecting members’ wishes, listening tests and practical events.

Meetings

Two full-day meetings are held annually on topics such as:

  • Sensory evaluation methods: Preference tests, attribute tests, discrimination tests, etc.
  • Test subjects: Selection, training, monitoring, motivation, bias, etc.
  • Data processing: Practical application of statistics, tools, data quality, interpretation of results, etc.
  • Audio recording and reproduction techniques: Transmission chain influences, setups, standards, artificial head recordings, calibration routines, loudness adjustment, headphone compensation, etc.
  • Acoustic rooms: Room acoustic properties, measurement rooms vs. listening rooms and their limitations, documentation, acoustic treatment, relevant standards, etc.
  • Electroacoustically relevant measured quantities: Measurement methods and signals, measurement uncertainties, interpretation and use of results, relevant standards, etc.
